If we have ever cherished the thought of becoming ‘good,’ we need to look at the Ten Commandments and see just how much do we measure up now, and how much more do we have to go…We will learn that we CANNOT be good; but that should not stop us from doing ‘good stuff!’ A ‘Good Person’ keeps every single law in the Commandments – and there are really more than just ten of them.
Ironically, we believe that the Ten Commandments Moses gave the Children of Israel at the foot of Mount Sinai was not just a ‘guideline for righteous living,’ but for us to see just how futile it is to try living outside the Grace and Mercies of God. Try as we may, we WILL violate a few of the statues now and then. So, while we are working up to the full requirements of the ‘statures of God,’ we will be living among equally-tainted people as ourselves, so we better ‘learn to get along,’ and one sure way is to be ‘good to each other.’
