What have you achieved today? What are you planning to achieve today? Treehouse offers a resource where you can easily create, complete and share achievements with your friends. I came about it as I was browsing the web in search of quality resources. The simple, yet elegant manner of their website, along with some quirky copywriting caught my eye immediately and I decided it should hold a dignified place here, around so many great resources. You can create a free account right now or simply log in with your Facebook account. Once you’re done with that, it’s time to share, talk about and create short-term or long-term achievements. Why Would I Want to Use Treehouse?
Brain Pickings has a very good article on “A Brief History of the To-Do List and the Psychology of Its Success“. In it, the author talks about how many of the important people from our common past have used to-do lists to achieve great things we still talk about today. We’re talking about people like Umberto Eco, Leonardo da Vinci, John Lennon and even Benjamin Franklin. Treehouse offers exactly that – a virtual to-do list, but with a different ‘brand’ and approach to it. What separates it from the ordinary to-do list is that you’ll get to ‘brag’ about what you’ve achieved that day or managed to achieve in any given period of time.
As human beings, we like to get a little bit of appreciation, even though we very well know that whatever we do, we do for ourselves. But being social creatures means that we’ll always strive to get the approval and acceptance of others. And Treehouse is acting as a social platform as well, albeit a unique one – where success stories take the place of pictures with cats and babies. So I strongly urge you to give it a go. It’s free and it’s fun. My personal achievement for today is finding Treehouse. What will yours be?
